Artifact Donation

A beige wall with visible cracks, a portrait mirror, a white shelf with a pair of eyeglasses, and two candlesticks holding tall blue and orange candles next to a gray door frame.

The Old Meeting House Museum welcomes artifacts that help tell the story of Wilbraham and the people who lived here. Our collection focuses primarily on items connected to Wilbraham, though objects from surrounding areas may be considered.

All potential donations are reviewed by our curatorial staff to determine their suitability for the museum’s collection.

Artifacts generally should:

  • Have a connection to Wilbraham or the local area, with known history (who made or used the item, where it came from, and when it was used)

  • Be in stable physical condition

  • Not already well represented in the collection

  • Be donated without restrictions such as long-term loans or requirements for permanent display

If you have an item you believe may be of interest, please contact us using the form below or email: [email protected].

NOTE: Please do not drop off or mail objects without first contacting the museum; we want to make sure that your potential gift is properly identified and cared for. Thank you for considering the donation of artifacts to our museum exhibits. Please contact our curator to discuss your donation. Email: [email protected].

Supporting the Museum

Thanks to memberships and donations, the volunteers and members of the Old Meeting House Museum are able to:

  • Maintain the historic Old Meeting House and Hearse House on Main Street

  • Create permanent and rotating exhibits that explore Wilbraham’s history

  • Offer programs and events that bring local history to the community

All of this is made possible at no cost to museum visitors.
